Basics
Name: Ambrose Ward
Nickname: -------
Age: 62
Birthday: January 9
Gender: Male
Original/Cannon: Original
Category: Follower of Amazarak
Powers: The ability to create and control puppets, and gift of powerful luck when it comes to betting. Anyone agreeing to bet with him will lose.
The Look
Physical Stats:
A life of privilege and plenty has left its mark on the short and plump Ward, whose heavily lined features are most commonly molded into a self-important sneer… or an indulgent smile reserved only for himself. His hair is graying and just starting to recede, and he dresses in only the most extravagant suits.
Celebrity: Paul Sorvino
Personality:
Pompous and self-important, Ward has always seen himself as the most important member of the Seven and it shows in his superior attitude when addressing anyone and everyone around him. He expects things to be done his way, no questions asked, and accepts nothing less than the best of the best of everything (although often enough he wouldn’t know the difference anyway – it’s bragging rights that matter to him more than quality).
History:
Ward’s family comes from Old Money (in the way that no one remembers anymore how they got it or what their place in society is, only that they are Important). It was his wealth that got him an in with the others of the Seven in the first place, and he financially supported many of their early efforts. Despite having made very little else in the way of a contribution and despite every member of the Seven being incredibly wealthy at this point, Ward still sees himself as being the one who “made it all possible” and prides himself for being the most well-off and never having had to work for a bit of it.
The others more realistically place him as one of the least significant of their number, and often talk over and around him while easily appeasing him with empty flatteries and expensive gifts.
Ward despises that he lives in an era where who your family is and what caste you were born into is becoming less and less significant. When Amazarak rises, Ward sees the world returning to an age of birthright, of kings, nobles and peasants, with the Seven being right at the top.
Family:
None worth noting
Likes:
Flattery
Ostentatious art and clothing
Expensive/Imported food
Seeing others fail
Opera
Dislikes:
People presuming they’re his equal
Hard work (or any kind of work)
Modern society
Modern architecture
Modern... pretty much anything
Strengths:
Enough wealth to buy his way into or out of pretty much anything
Head for numbers
Connections to elite society (though most don’t ENJOY speaking to him, his family and financial status gives him pull in high society around the globe)
Weaknesses:
Laziness
Impatience
Comfortable in his status and superiority, he is often oblivious to what’s really going on around him
Interests:
Attending high society events to not-so-subtly put others down.
Literature about medieval kings and Chinese emperors – though he’s only really interested in reading about their use of power and picturing the laws he’ll enact once he is “king.”
