Man, I am UNhappy about CW's decision to move Supernatural to Fridays next year. Friday is the day of death for TV - it's a well-documented fact. People go out on Friday nights way more often than Saturdays. And apparently DVR ratings don't mean anything to channel reps - something about advertising not paying as well on DVR 'cause people can fast forward through the commercials anyway. What does this mean for our show? Anyway, I just read this news in an article HERE, WHICH HAS A FEW (vague, thematic) SPOILERS for season six. It describes season six as a "season of mystery and shadow," which I think sounds awesome. But don't worry, I won't say any more here. What do you guys think about the great (meaning awful) Supernatural migration?

I don't like the switch! I like Thursday nights for Supernatural! I haven't really thought about it, but you're right, Sam. Friday nights do seem to be the death of many shows! Journeyman, Now and Again ... when was Firefly on? But, thinking about it, most of those shows I can think of were new shows without an established following. Hopefully since this is its 6th season (wow!), it'll help. Smallville seems to have done ok, but that show hasn't been very good at all for ages. The summary for next season sounds interesting! I hope it goes over well. I like that it sounds like they're going to concentrate on the brothers' relationship. I also like that Cas'll be back. I hope they've got an explanation for that though. I love having Castiel around, but if Heaven is in disarray like they said, what's he doing hanging around by the Winchesters? I'm excited! As long as the time change doesn't kill it...

I like the sound of this!
The ideas for next season, not really for the move to Fridays. I really hope the move doesn't kill it. What's wrong with Thursdays anyway?! Hn. Yeah, Fridays are a little rough on shows. It sucks that DVR watching and that sort of thing can't be taken into account because it's true! People tend to go out more on Friday nights than Thurday nights (my suitemates from sophmore year not withstanding) so I bet you there's going to be a drop in 'visible' views that has nothing to do with how good the season is. *sighs*
On the other hand I'm glad that (so far) people aren't tapping into the public's dvrs to see what they're recording.
That's a little home-invasion, big-brother creepy-ish right there.

Heh, true Jonas. I mean, it's already going on all over the internet - the pop up ads we see tend to be based on the kind of sites we visit, and Facebook blatantly takes information from your "interests" lists and puts up ads based on that. Glad it's not extended to TV land yet, though.
I hope that the channel understands that whatever ratings-drops go on, it's just because of the Friday move. I mean, if we're all aware if it being a Death-To-TV night, then they should be too, right? Hopefully they'll make allowances for that.
