I just figured this section could use a little somethin' somethin'. So! I decided it might be interesting to make a thread about the aliases the Winchesters have used. I got some of these from the Supernatural Magazine and some of them from online sources.
Anyone have a favorite?
DEAN
Ted Nugent – This was the name Dean used in the Pilot. Ted Nugent is an American hard rock guitarist and vocalist.
John Bonham –Used in Scarecrow (and in Fool Moon by our own Dean). Bonham was the drummer from Led Zeplin.
Alan Stanwyck –Used in Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things. This guy was a character from the movie Fletch.
Major Tom –Used by Dean in Tall Tales. Or so Sam says. Major Tom refers to the character in David Bowie’s song “Space Oddity”.
D. Hasselhoff- Used in All Hell Breaks Loose. David Hasselhoff is an actor probably best known for his role in Baywatch.
Siegfried Houdini –Used in The Kids are Alright on Dean’s credit card. How he got away with that one we’ve got to wonder. ;p
Mr. Hagar- As seen in No Rest for the Wicked for Dean’s car registration. Sammy Hagar was the second lead singer of Van Halen and the original singer of the rock band Montrose in the 1970’s.
Dean Van Halen –Used in In the Beginning. Not only a homage to Eddie Van Halen of Van Halen (duh), but to the movie Back to the Future. According to the SPN Magazine, (I haven’t checked it out myself yet!) Marty McFly uses the band’s name too when he (like Dean) goes back in time and meets his parents. Marty, however, doesn’t use it as a name for himself, but as the name of the planet he comes from when poses as an alien.
Agent Ulrich –From Criss Angel is a Douchebag. Lars Ulrich was the drummer for Metallica and apparently an ex-tennis pro. Interesting.
Coach Roth –Used in After School Special. This name too comes from Van Halen’s group. David Lee Roth is the current lead singer of Van Halen.
SAM
Bikini Inspector- Used in Something Wicked against Sam’s want. But luckily enough, the card with said ID was not checked thoroughly.
Mr. Berkowitz – Used in Faith on the credit card Sam uses to pay for treatment for Dean at the hospital. Ironic since there’s a very famous serial killer with the name Berkowitz (David), also known as the Son of Sam. Creepy.
Jim Rockford – Used in The Usual Suspects. It’s a name the boys use if they get split up. The name comes from the tv show The Rockford Files about a man who’d been falsely imprisoned.
Richard Sambora –Used in Born Under a Bad Sign. Sambora is a guitarist from the band Bon Jovi.
Wedge Antilles – The name used for Sam’s cell phone account in Lazarus Rising. Antilles was the X-wing pilot in the three original Star Wars movies.
Michael Chabon – Used in When the Levee Breaks by Sam to evade Dean and Bobby. Didn’t work. Michael Chabon is the author of at least one book Sam enjoys.
That’s all I could find for Sam alone. I guess he’s a tad more honest with his name than Dean.
The Sam and Dean Duo[/b]
Agents Ford and Hamill –Used in Dead in the Water. Taken from Star Wars’s Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill (Han Solo and Luke Skywalker).
The Reverends Simmons and Frehley- Used in Nightmare. Gene Simmons and Ace Frehley of the rock band Kiss.
Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard –In Croatoan. These guys are from the band ZZ Top.
Detectives Landis and Dante- Used in Heart while they hunted down a werewolf. A good fit as John Landis and Joe Dante were directors of classic werewolf movies.
Detective’s Plant and Page –Used in Bedtime Stories. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are the vocalist and guitar player of Led Zeppelin.
Agents Bachman and Turner- Of the rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive (or BTO). Used in Malleus Maleficarium.
Messrs. Campbell and Raimi- Used in Long Distance Call. Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are the guys behind the hit Evil Dead movies. And they were involved in that old tv show Hercules with Kevin Sorbo. (^_^)
Agents Angus and Young –Used in Monster Movie. Angus Young was the co-founder of AC/DC.
Agents Tyler and Perry- Used in Yellow Fever. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are the founding members of Aerosmith.
Agents Geddy and Lee- Used in It’s the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester. Geddy Lee was the bass player and vocalist for the Canadian rock band Rush.
City Workers Stanwyck and Babar- Used in Family Remains. Another homage to the movie Fletch.
Agents Styles and Murdoch- Used in Sex and Violence. These guys were the main characters in the show Route 66, a show that may have been partly in Eric Kripke’s mind when he created Supernatural. The show was about two guys who drove around the country helping the helpless.
Agents DeYoung and Shaw- Used in The Monster at the End of This Book. Dennis DeYoung and Tommy Shaw were from the rock band Styx.
