Um, wow. Can I just say..... wow. How can I even express...?
First of all, BRILLIANT!
Ok, the whole Impala tribute was so amazing! And it was just... amazing how it tied into the most epic climactic moment........ The little toy soldiers!!! The legos, the carvings... GEEZ!!! SO GOOD!
And... GAH!
Lucifer knew about the rings! And then...
And, and the flashbacks!! And Lucifer beating them all! And he KILLED CASTIEL AND BOBBY!! He BLEW CASTIEL UP! SNAPPED BOBBY'S NECK!!! NOOOOOOO!!!! Then beating Dean up! And then... the light!!! The flash... the intensity.... the memories!! It was done so well!!!
I can't even think straight! It was so great!

Alright, I think I finally feel distanced enough from the episode to write semi-coherently about it. After I watched it I was pretty much just a blubbering idiot, , and my review would've come out something like: "that...but... and then they, and... ahhhhhh!!!!"
I think that was a perfect episode. The best one in the series. The culmination of every single thing up to that point. Starting off with the Impala tribute was sweet, and then built up throughout the episode until that moment when the light hit Sam's eyes, and you realized why it really was the most important object in existence. The memories they shared of their life together in that car literally saved humanity.
Everything about Lucifer's possession played out perfectly. There wasn't a point where I thought he wasn't creepy enough or real enough. The scene where he met Michael, his brother, and asked him why they had to fight... their relationship was a great parallel between Sam and Dean's, with the obvious exception that the humans loved more, cared more, and were willing to sacrifice more for each other. God's true test - to see if love or law would conquer. To see if the little guy could beat impossible odds if he cared enough.
And they did!!! Dean driving up in that moment before the final battle, of course with his classic music playing loud... then Bobby and Cas showing up and OH MY GOD that was horrifying. I'd been afraid one of them would die, but both... and then they way they were brought back... again, perfect. If they'd been alive, if everything hadn't been seemingly lost, then the moment when Lucifer raised his fist to deliver the killing blow to Dean wouldn't have had quite that terrible, screaming finality.
Dean... Dean. Dean. There was a moment at the beginning when I was still sad for these brothers. When Dean came up to Sam and said basically, "Alright, if you want to jump into hell I'm behind you." While it was good to see him have faith in Sam, it seemed like such a sad, sharp contrast between the earlier seasons when the idea of losing each other would have been unthinkable. But then in the car, when Sam told him that he couldn't try to bring him back, and Dean freaked out... that made me incredibly happy. I realized that despite everything, despite the entire world being at stake, Dean hadn't just been willing to let Sam martyr himself - he'd still been holding on to the wild hope that Sam would still come back afterward, they way they've both come back before.''
And then he drove to the battlefield because he couldn't let Sam die alone... and when he was being beaten to death all he would say was "It's alright, Sammy. I'm here."
... I just got teary-eyed again for a second...
Sam... oh my God, Sam. When he begged Dean not to try saving him, to go and have an "apple-pie life"... that was the first point when I started getting teary. His struggle inside Lucifer was perfect. I'm glad that he couldn't just grab control back from the Devil (oh and before I forget, Lucifer's "fiddle of gold against your soul" line... really awesomely terrifying). Because Lucifer is Lucifer. No matter how much you want to, no matter how strong you are, you can't just be stubborn and have a strong will and beat him. It took everything that happened in that graveyard - Dean showing up and insisting that no matter what he was there for him, Bobby and Cas's deaths, Dean's impending death, and that seemingly by-luck flicker of light drawing his gaze to the toy soldier, drawing his memory to every wonderful and terrible and loving moment they've ever had, that made it believable for him to be able to come screaming forward and wrench back control. To hold it long enough to open the gate, and to drag himself, Lucifer, Michael, and Adam in with him.
I have to stop going over the scene again in my head. I'm going to cry.
Final thoughts: this could have been the series finale, it really could have. And it would have been perfect. But on the other hand, I'm actually for the first time really excited to see what they'll do in season six, as well. Of course I want to know what happened to Sam - who was that, exactly, standing outside Lisa's window under a flickering streetlight? Sam, having been allowed out of hell by God? Sam, having crawled out himself? Lucifer, having managed to flicker his way out before the doors shut? Or is it some slightly twisted, demonized version of Sam, either damaged by whatever length of time he was in hell (hell time is different, remember, and also I'm not positive whether that window shot was supposed to be the same night Dean showed up or even a while later) or maybe permanently altered by Lucifer's possession or the massive amount of demon blood he'd taken in? Too many questions. But at the same time, a wonderful wrap-up. If they start going downhill next year I will feel perfectly comfortable looking back on this as the way the show ended.
It was just... wonderful.

Um, yeah. Great episode! It made me cry!! The toy soldier and the carvings and the impala- it all did a great job of reinstilling the brotherly bonds we've been missing and worrying about. And I loved that Dean backed Sam and his decision, not because he liked the idea, but because it was their only option and he trusted in Sam enough to do it. And Sam was so brave! The whole back and forth with Lucifer in the mirror was cool. I liked that. Ohhhhh but the best/saddest scene was at the end! Lucifer/Sam facing off with Michael/Adam?? So sad. And they all decide they're going to have to go through with the big end of the world battle when their suddenly comes the sound of the Impala! And then enters the itty bitty human amidst these ... huge, greater than life beings who are about to do battle just so that Sam won't be there, stuck in Lucifer in the battle alone. So great! And that bond inspired two more to show! Cas and Bobby! These two and a half humans dare to stick themselves in the middle of this... colossal cosmic apocalyptic battle in and attempt to defy supposed destiny and fate! So. Great. And THEN Lucifer blew Castiel up. Just exploded him into little red fleshy bits all over Bobby? That shocked me. Then he blew up Bobby?? That Really shocked me. And then he went on to beat Dean to a bloody pulp and I was just sitting there all sniffly because this was just so sad and awful! and Then Dean looks up at the figure above him and looks past Lucifer to his little brother and says simply "It's all right. I'm here." That was one of the best scenes ever! That was so sad! That and the whole bit with the flashes with the memories, it was so ... well, great is the word I keep using. And it is!! Evan: Brilliant! That's a good word for it. I know! The little toy soldier and the Impala tribute were great things to have put in! Eve: It made me cry too!! And yeah, is it Sam or isn't it?? I need some new episodes now!! I don't know how I'll survive the summer! Oh yeah. And what's the deal with Chuck, hm?? Is he God? He just poof! Vanished!

Nooooooo!!! It's over! Now we have to wait alllll summer! But at least we are getting more. With an ending like that, we've just got to know more!!
It was freaking awesome! I love a good showdown and this was just... well it was a totally unfair showdown! Freaking angels going to destroy the world in their fight and then our heroes show up despite the odds! Yeah. Major points for people!
Loved the tribute to the car. It was very fitting. And all the brother stuff and the flashbacks was just cool. Definitely one of my top favorites!
That thing with Sam saying Dean needed the whole apple pie life and not to save him was perfect. And Dean not wanting to promise and later showing up at the showdown just so Sammy wouldn't die alone was also perfect. These guys have their problems, but man, I think they came out of this with stronger bonds than before! You know... considering one of them was still possessed by Lucifer and the other was off trying to be "normal"...
I hope God saved Sam like he saved Cas and Bobby (Oh my god, guys! Cas and Bobby!!!). I don't know what they'd do if they had to fight Sammy/Lucifer next season.

First of all, I must say that I don't think Evan has ever seemed less composed! ^_- But I can understand--it was an amazing episode!! ^_^ Just starting off with the whole Impala tribute was so sweet! And how it continued throughout the episode was great! It definitely came to a peak at the scene where Lucifer was beating up Dean, and then the Liiiiight!!! and then the memories! WOW! That was just amazing! and AWESOME!!! And then he pulled Michael into the hooolllleee!!!! NOOOO!! I can't believe they did that! >.< They'd better save Adam! >.< But I'm getting ahead of myself! Lucifer vs. Michael! Wow, what a showdown waiting to happen!! And then... Dean just drives along into the middle of it! AAHHHH SOGOOOOOOOD!!!! And then Cas and Bobby!! BRILLIANT!!! I was so scared for them, though!! >.< And then Lucifer BLEW UP CAS!! OOOOHHH MYY GOD!! Bobby shot him with the Colt(I think) and I just knew what was coming.... >.< I was afraid they weren't going to bring them back! But this eppy was just SO AMAZING!! LOVED IT!! <3 Cas is now a big head-honcho upstairs (Does this mean my dream of him becoming an Archangel has come true!?!?! I've been wanting it for such a long time! ^_-) Bobby's alive and has legs, Dean is with Lisa, and Sam.... is back? Huh?! But is it Sam or Luci?!?!? ^_- We'll have to wait and see!
