GUUUUUUUUYYYYYS. That was epic. I'm so freaking excited. It was like... epic. And awesome. And... cool. And... scary.
I'm not even sure what to say. Ok, you know - first I'll start off with my single complaint (so I can end on a happy note, not a grumpy one.) So my one grumpy comment: what's with all the Sam hate? I know that Lucifer's... Lucifer, and therefore it'll be nearly impossible to force him out of control, but that's not the way Bobby and Dean were really phrasing their complaints. "Sam's full of character flaws." "...and then I realized, 'whoa, Sam actually is a good guy after all.'" And I was all... um, ok? Since when did we not think Sam was a good guy? *Sigh* I mean, Castiel was the only one to show real faith in Sam in this episode. Castiel. The one who thinks of him as the "abomination" was the one who seemed to believe in him.
That upsets me. I really didn't think that Bobby and Dean had lost so much faith in Sam, and I'm really unclear as to what he's done to deserve it. Even when he caused the apocalypse, he thought he was doing the right thing. He thought he was taking the necessary steps to save the world - basically damaging himself by taking in demon blood so he could kill Lillith and save humanity. Where did Bobby get the impression that Sam wouldn't put himself in harm's way to save a bunch of innocents?
*sigh* Now I'm upset. Maybe I shouldn't have complained first... But moving on.
Death was SO SCARY!!! Seriously, just by sitting there he beat out every other threatening figure's creep-factor (save possibly Lucifer's), and I'm really glad he was willing to help, because there was absolutely no way that Dean was going to be able to take him on. Pestilence was wonderfully less gross this episode, though making people throw up green goo and die was still decently gross. I'm pretty much a fan of Crowley now - I know, I know, I've learned my "never trust a demon" lesson from Ruby, but he let Bobby walk!!! !! ! I'm still terrified for Bobby's soul, and I really can't see a demon just letting Bobby walk out of the kindness of his heart, but it was really nice to see.
Moving on to Poor Castiel!!! Poor (human?) Castiel? I'm so glad to see him again! I love his quirky little comments, and I do hope he gets his angelic powers back by the end of the season... if for no other reason than that the angels need at least one decent person in their order?
Which brings me to Adam!! Poor (Michael-possessed) Adam!! Yeah... that's about all I have to say about that. I hope he gets out of this ok, and not dead again. He really didn't deserve all this death and possession, etc, just 'cause he shares some Winchester blood... :/
Finally, I BELIEVE IN YOU, SAM!!! You will be able to beat Lucifer, because you've always been strong-willed and determined, and willing to go to whatever lengths are necessary to do the right thing (even if you occasionally and understandably get confused about what is the right thing to do).
(See, I'm leaving this on a defiantly positive: "I believe" note, not a grouchy "why don't they believe in Sam?" note.) ...Oops.
Still, awesome episode!! I'm so excited for the finale!!
