That would be hilarious. Like - -Oh, what did you think of last week's episode, Jonas? -Well, Kasen, I was pretty fond of it over all, but there were a few little parts I didn't love. -Oh really? I hated it.

Chase!! That was so crazy! I'm not sure what to do now. But very nice posting. Do you realize that we posted 20 times in that thread today? That must be some kind of a record.

Seriously? Twenty? I think we deserve high fives. And maybe some hot chocolate too. ::Raises hand to catch Tash's attention.:: Two. I'll take mine with a double espresso shot. Heh, and yeah. I figured if ever there was a time for Chase to snap, that would be it. Plus, now there's the possibility of you walking in on me knifing somebody. Always a plus.

Chase and Alonna: Congrats on your lengthy posting match. ;p
And we've got another birthday today: Tasha!
Tash: Happy Birthday!
:: Decides to be the host today and give Tasha the day off. Brings Alonna and Chase their drinks then proceeds to bring out a cake. ::

Whoa, this is seriously birthday central around here (though I don't know if Gwen really counts, since she's in the graveyard. ). Happy birthday, Tasha!! Chase & Alonna - you two went on a serious spree. Your post count has probably doubled, Alonna. You are an inspiration for us all...

Oh, thanks for the birthday wishes, guys! My real birthday isn't until tomorrow. Lol, I know, I'm lame. Kase: Thanks for taking over for the day! Chase, Alonna, and all: Sorry for neglecting the Roadhouse! I'll be in more often I hope. Dean: I see you finally responded! Sam: Thanks! Yeah, I'm not sure Gwen counts anymore.

Well then, happy birthday today, Tash! Chase & Alonna: Nice job!! I'm going to have to go read your thread now - Alonna's reaction has intrigued me... ^_^ ~~ PS: Random question - didn't we have a thread floating around somewhere for posting OTHER PEOPLE'S music vids that we really liked? I glanced around for it and couldn't find it, and I don't really want to start a new one if there is another one... ah well, for now, THIS VIDEO just reminded me a little about what I've loved so much about this series. I'm definitely going into the next ep with renewed optimism after seeing it!

Eve: Thanks! I do remember that we had another music video thread... I haven't seen that in a while though. :: Watches the vid:: Oh this was nicely put together! Somebody put up a Supernatural video to that song a while back (at least I think I saw it from here...), but this one is better I think. I really like that song. It's so sad! I like the effects in this. I think they might have seen each other's vid though. There were parts in there that I think I remember from the other one, but then again, they were things that fit perfectly. The one thing I remember from that old vid that i wish this one had too was this part where in Season three the hell hounds are about to show and the clock rings and Dean tells Sam not to try and save him and Sam is in tears looking at Dean and asks "What am I supposed to do?". Then the vid cuts to back when Sam was dead and Deans sitting over him asking that very same thing. Great juxtposition. This video had something similar with Dean and Sam being dead, but I like that use of dialogue. Lol, and now I've think I've talked too much about the videos. Great video find, Eve!

Tash and Eve: I took a quick look around for that music vids thread, but I didn't see it either. It's probably misplaced. ...Or we're all imagining it. We might have to start a new one.
I like this song too and I know the vid Tash is talking about. It must have been here I saw that then. But this one (Eve's find) is definitely put together with more skill. I enjoyed this.
:: Sits back, leaning against the bar::
Ok, so the other night I went to this Haiti relief concert thing at a community college that a friend of mine invited me to. It was a good cause and sounded like it'd be fun, so I went. They started off with a couple public speakers, but man... These guys could not publicly speak! (Publicly speak? You know what I mean.)
They had this professor originally from Haiti start off the bat, but he just kept repeating how "On behalf of the people of Haiti, welcome." After literally at least five times of saying that, it became quite apparent that he'd written only a few guidelines for this speech of his and kept losing his place. Either that or he wanted to make sure that somehow he was speaking with the voices of every Haitian ever. The next guy up on stage was just as bad as the first guy except instead of repeating "welcome" he was trying to introduce the keynote speaker of the night, his brother, a priest. You could tell what he was trying to say when he gave the audience a little background on his brother (that he was a smart guy who'd gone to college, gotten a masters, and decided to become a priest because even from a young age he'd been drawn to the idea of priesthood), but the way he phrased it all made it came off as if he were knocking his brother and his choices ("he went for his masters. He could have done anything! He became a priest" instead.)
'Ok', I thought. 'Hopefully his well educated brother will be able to make up for these other people. He is the keynote speaker after all.'
No such luck. The guy comes out, speaks for at least 15 or 20 minutes and in between the times I'm reminding myself that at least their hearts are in the right place all I can think is that I could totally write a better priest than this guy. Is that blasphemy or something?
He should have been talking about the strength of the Haitian people or how God was watching over them and that people should continue to support each other in these hard times, but instead he gave a poor history of Haiti that seemed to me to highlight Haiti's less honorable times. Overall his speech ended up sounding like he was implying that the disaster was deserved! Which, of course, he didn't mean at all (I don't think...), but man... I could definitely do a better speech for a priest than that! Jonas would have had an awesome little speech had he been there.
Well, enough complaining from me today.
:: Sighs and drinks whatever it is that's left in his glass and looks to Tasha hopefully for another.::

Chase: That would be hilarious! ...Unless they teamed up against me or something...
...Yes. I'm a little paranoid around the not-quite-angel.
:: looks around shiftily::
Tasha: Yes I did! :: nods proudly::
Eve: Neat vid! Wish I could do something like that. I don't have the patience for video making though. You know... or a program! Maybe we should make a new thread?
Kasen: Lol, that's both sad and funny! But at least they were doing it for a good cause. Are you a good public speaker? How was the rest of the concert thing? Or did you just leave after all the bad speakers?

Dean: Heh, see that's the thing. I am not a good public speaker. I'm a pretty good writer, but I'm kind of quiet and nervous when it comes to speaking in front of large groups. And yet I could have still done better than these guys! The concert itself turned out to be more of a talent show. There were poets and short theater acts, a rock band and a classical quartet, many dancers with many themes, and even a kung fu demonstration. That last one was my favorite. Of course that was two or three hours in. I left soon afterward because there was still several more and a candle lighting ceremony and those speakers were going to come back. :: shivers:: Over all the show was all right. A decent way to spend an evening.

Glad you guys liked the vid! I don't remember this other similar one, but that doesn't mean it wasn't on here... I guess if no one remembers the location of the old thread then whoever discovers a fun new vid to look at first should feel free to start up a new one. Kasen - those speeches sound exhausting. I'm not a great public speaker either (I've been told it's literally the number one fear there is. Would you rather face a war-zone or have to give a speech in front of Congress? War-zone, please!) but whether or not you can actually speak without your voice going all wavery, you should at least have a legitimate speech prepared, that you know says what you want to say. Sucks that these guys didn't seem to realize what exactly they were there for. :/

Kasen: That's too bad about the speakers, Kase. You'd think they'd find people a little more eloquent. :: Pours the admin another drink:: Eve: I kind of want to find a video now just to start a new thread.

:: Enters the Roadhouse covered in snow, which he attempted to brush off while still outside, but got covered once again before the door closed behind him::
Dude, it's a freakin' blizzard out there!
Real life as well. Glad I don't have to be out an about much today. :: Hangs his coat on a chair near the door.::
all: How's everybody? Keeping warm I hope.
Tash: Today's going to be a big day for hot cocoa. I can feel it! :: Blinks at her meaningfully::
Kase: Ha! Maybe you shoulda just marched up there and given a speech then. I bet your friend would have loved that.
Eve: Number one fear? Really? I'm not much of a public speaker myself, I suppose, but I mean, there's some scarystuff out there!

:: Blinks back at Dean, pretending not to get it for several moments to draw out the suspense. Then finally she smiles and hands him a hot cup:: Dean: Here you go. :: sighs:: Yeah, it was pretty bad out there! I had to do some major shoveling. it's good exercise though.

Tash: It is good exercise. Though I'm a little sore from it all actually. Did you hear the bit where yesterday (I think?) we got "measurable snow is 49 of the 50 states"? That's nuts! Apparently that's never happened before in one day. :: accepts the cocoa with a grin:: Tash: Sweet!! :: takes a careful sip, then a long slurping gulp:: Tash: Ahhh, much better. You know, my boss looks at me funny when I say "sweet". Yes, I say it in RL too. ;p He's all like "Who says sweet?" Heheheh, he's behind on the times I think.

Eve: Yeah, you'd think they would have planned them out better.
:: Accepts his drink from Tash::
Tash: Cheers!
:: Watches Dean wander in, covered in snow::
Dean: Well, I'm glad I'm inside then! :: chuckles and thinks how it would've gone had he charged up on stage:: Yeah, that wouldn't have worked out too well.
And who doesn't say 'sweet'? That's the real question. Behind the times indeed.

Ahhh, someone else has to be on so I can have a post-a-thon and not work on my stupid composition class paper... due in about 10 1/2 hours...
Ok, so it's probably good that no one's on. But in my defense, only a rough draft is due tomorrow. ...A rough draft for which I currently have no working thesis... Yeah, I shouldn't be on the site right now, huh?
