Continued from Enemy Unveiled. Katsuro had set out immediately from the building where he had confronted the woman "Tasha." He did not want to be in a place he didn't know how to escape from. Or at the least, know where to find the best branches to whack people with. The clearing in Detswitch Forest was nothing large, but it was indeed an out-of-the-way place, perfect for secret meetings... and perfect for an ambush. There were simply too many places for hired mercenaries and assasins to creep out of... At the very least, they would not know which direction Katsu would choose to come from, so they wouldn't be able to set up too many people in any one direction. After taking a good long look around, Katsu found the most likely escape routes, the best hiding spots he could access easily, and the best places to mount an assault. He wasn't paranoid about an ambush, he had simply learned to be cautious, especially when dealing with groups such as cults. When he was satisfied, Katsu left the area, sure that the cult would like some time to prepare their own safety measures, traps, etc.

The following night, Tasha arrived in Detswitch Forest a half hour before the appointed time. Her orders had been quite succinct. Keep an eye on Katsuro, do not get in the way of negotiations, but also keep an eye on our representative.
Haynesworth, the one who controlled Tasha, would not be coming himself to this particular meeting. Another of the Cult of Amazarak had been dispatched. Tasha's master rarely dealt with potentially dangerous matters in person. In the past, Tasha might have called him a coward. Now she didn't have an opinion on the subject. Hayensworth had informed her that he might 'drop by' into her consciousness so that he might see how things were progressing without endangering himself, but this technique of eavesdropping required a significant power drain on the part of the spell caster and distracted the Puppet and for those reasons he stated that such an occurrence would be unlikely.
She did a quick sweep of the surrounding area to ensure that everything was as it should be, then went to appointed spot, not taking any particular care to be quiet.

Evan was not late. He wasn't that sort of person. Time generally just flowed in a manner that allowed his easy passage.
Also, he had a very precise wristwatch.
Evan stood at the edge of the clearing, not wishing to be the first one out in the open. He watched carefully and listened closely, waiting for any sign of movement.
The Cult had called his services in quite out of the blue. He had, in fact, been somewhat out of the area and had needed a private jet to get him "in" the area in time for the meeting. In fact, one of the other members had been quite much closer to the scene, but Haynesworth was never one for putting himself out in the open. That's what Evan's job was; public relations.
All the same, Evan despised having to run somewhere at another's whim. Maybe Evan would allow things to get "out of hand" and rid Haynesworth of one of his precious Puppets....? Evan had gotten to know him very well, and didn't believe he suspected any ability in Evan for the great slyness he in truth possessed. He was the youngest; he was the naive one who was stupid enough to let his face be seen by the public and expose himself to the real world with little more than Janin at his side.
Such thinking would be the downfall of the fools he worked with......
Evan shook his head slightly, clearing it so he could focus on what might have been a branch snapping beneath the foot of a cautious man...

Katsu froze. 'Stupid branch,' he thought. It was usually not this difficult for him to move around unnoticed. 'This is what happens when you don't practice walking on dead leaves and twigs for a couple of years....' He waited a while to allow avid listeners to believe they had imagined it before continuing onward carefully and silently. "Crack!" Katsu froze again. That noise had not come from him. Someone else was in the wood nearby. Was it that woman, Tasha? Or perhaps her "Masters?" Or perhaps... someone else? Staying perfectly still, Katsu listened intently, but whatever had caused the noise did not move again.
With the utmost stealth, Katsu moved onward, listening carefully for any hint of sound. He made it to the clearing without making too much ruckus, and hearing nothing more around him than the rustle of leaves in the light breeze and peered through a thick bush. There didn't seem to be anyone else there yet, but the tree cover could be hiding as many as twenty people. He didn't particularly like the idea of being caught by a group of cultists.
Especially when he didn't know what their views on vampires were.
It seemed, however, that they would not appear until he himself put himself out in the spotlight... Shaking his head slightly, Katsu rearranged the katana hanging blatantly from his side and walked silently into the clearing.
They weren't going to be unarmed; why should he be?

Tasha reached the meeting place to wait. Without moving to check their hidden places, she went over the items she had brought with her. Beneath her black jacket a pistol was holstered to her side. A small knife was within easy reach in her sleeve and then another in her boot. A cell sat in her coat pocket with the sound off and the vibration on.
Tasha glanced around, doing a full sweep of the area while only moving enough to see the full 360 degrees. Then she closed her eyes and made sure that her mind was open to her master's presence. She didn't yet feel his presence so, after a pause, she returned to her silent vigil.
Katsuro and the other man would arrive soon.

Katsu stepped into the clearing. Glancing around, he took a few steps toward the center, but did not proceed further; if they started shooting, he wanted to be able to get back to the tree cover relatively quickly...
Seeing no movement in the trees, Katsu resigned himself to wait. Taking a slight step back with his left foot, he rested his left hand on the hilt of the katana, his right relaxed at his side, but ready ro dart to his blade at any sign of trouble... he bent his knees slightly, not enough to be very noticable, but enough to be ready to spring in any direction.
He looked around and waited.

Tasha watched Katsuro step into the open. She waited a moment, considering whether or not to wait for her master or the other member of the Cult, then decided that the latter at least would not appear until she started off the meeting.
Tasha stepped out of the shadows and into the clearing, keeping her distance from the vampire.
"Katsuro," she stated. Or perhaps greeted. Her monotone could really be taken either way. "You have come alone?"
She noted his weapon, a sword strapped to his side and waiting in his hands, and knew that this person was quite adept with the blade. There would be no other reason to have such an outdated yet dangerous weapon. She knew that she could get to her pistol quickly if Katsuro decided to attack her, but knew also that there were few hits she could make to slow the creature before her.

OOC: Aren't you not supposed to know I'm a vampire yet? Though I suppose it's the most common fiend that would have a "need for blood..." Eh, whatever. ^_- BIC:
Katsu watched Tasha step out of the treeline, glancing around to see if anyone else was showing themselves, or using the distraction of Tasha's appearance to ambush him...
He looked the woman up and down. She could have a number of weapons concealed on her person, most likely including a gun of some sort. It seemed everyone had one these days... perhaps he should invest in one... yet they are so noisy... though much quicker than a dart...
But, Katsu reasoned, since when was he one to embrace all the traditions of this new age? Besides, if he bought a gun, he would have to learn how to operate it. And hitting something with a dart was just more satisfying anyway.
He refocused on the woman as she opened her mouth to speak. "Katsuro... You have come alone?"
"Yes, I have." He restrained himself from adding 'Are you?' instead asking, "Will your 'masters' be joining us?" And are they even considering my request, or are they just interested in disposing of me?

The man was bold. He was walking into a meeting with a dangerous cult group, wearing a weapon openly on his side. Was it plain cockiness, or was it a testament to his true strength? Evan was leaning towards the latter; he held himself too... steadily to be plain cocky... Evan had little doubt the man was dangerous.
You wouldn't be able to find the Cult of Amazarak if you weren't.
He watched the man closely as Tasha approached, waiting a few moments for the general "Hello's" to be said. Then, without bothering to signal Janin, who stood ready beside him, Evan straightened the cuffs of his suit-black, with a black collared shirt beneath and black tie- and strode out into the clearing.
Coming in from Katsuro's right, Evan stopped a few yards away: far enough to me out of the range of his blade plus a few steps. Janin hovered to Evan's left, obviously situated in a way to be closer to Katsuro's back, but still able to step in between him and him master. Janin's hands were shoved into his pockets like a bored teenager, but his eyes roamed the area, ever the watchful bodyguard.
Evan looked at Katsuro. They were about the same height, and he didn't look very old at all, yet his eyes... they seemed so... ancient... 'How interesting,' he thought, 'maybe I won't kill the Puppet. This could be an interesting interview... not that I'll thank Haynesworth...'
He waited for the Puppet to introduce him. Good manners were always a must when meeting new people.

OOC: I don't think I was supposed to know for sure what you were either. Vampire was just one of the ideas that came to Tasha so I've got her just sort of using that. ;p
BIC:
Tasha watched Katsuro for several silent moments, again sizing him up, before replying.
"They will come," she told him simply.
And then she fell into silence, waiting. Her senses were hyper aware despite the relaxed expression. And then one of the Seven stepped out into the clearing. Him and his ever present shadow, a body guard whose name Tasha had never overheard.
The cult member remained silent as if waiting. Tasha returned her gaze to the swordsman.
"He is here," she stated. She almost stopped there before she recalled some of her master's warnings about this member. First off he was very particular about manners and outward signs of sophistication. In this case, introductions. And at this point in a possibly useful alliance, it would not do to have him unhappy.
"Mr. Katsuro, this is Mr. Evan Hallowed of the Cult of Amazarak. Mr. Hallowed, Katsuro," she introduced.

At his introduction, Evan smiled openly, and playing on a hunch, bowed towards the swordsman. Evan had dealt with businessmen in Asian cultures, and it was usually smart to be on their good side from the start. And if the man was just a simple American, it would probably be a surprise, and maybe put him back on his heels.
"A pleasure to make a new aquaintance, sir." He had found that calling people below him titles of importance he was able to gain trust more easily.
"So, I have been informed that you are interested in making a deal with us. You should know we are very selective about who we put our trust and confidence in." He let the implications sink in for a moment, then continued. "Before I can offer you anything, however, I am going to need more specificity on your problem."

Dean Winchester trod through the forest, trying to keep track of where he was. It was surprisingly difficult, given the fact that Dean was quite adept at tracking, hunting, and navigating in many different kinds of terrain. He paused and straightened the knife on his belt, realizing as he did why he was so distracted.
After sneaking into the county hospital earlier that morning to see the fellow hunter who'd been drugged and attacked by the mystery woman, Dean had come away with several interesting bits of information and none of it was very comforting. Apparently the mystery hunter -a man named Demmar- didn't think he knew the woman who'd attacked him and hadn't realized why she'd attacked him. Not until Dean had questioned him about anything he might have come across lately- cases, information, strange happenings- did it dawn on Demmar that he might in fact know why he'd been attacked.
At first it had seemed like the hunter would clam up, but to Dean's surprise the man grabbed his arm and pulled him closer, desperate to divulge what he knew. Apparently there were rumors floating around certain supernatural circles. Rumors of "Special Children" given unnatural abilities by demons and of one demon in particular called Azazel who came up as high on the food chain in the same circles. Of course, Demmar hadn't known what Azazel had to do with the "Special children" rumors, but he did know that Azazel was planning something big. Big and not good for humans.
Dean had set Sam to work researching that info, such as it was, and Dean had helped... Until he'd gotten cabin fever an hour ago and decided to go out for a walk.
Dean sighed forcing himself to concentrate. it wouldn't do to get lost in the woods with a possibly important case like that still in play. It was when he'd finally calmed himself that he felt it. It was strange. He just got this feeling that he was not alone. He both loved and hated that feeling. Loved because he was often right and a warning was a warning. Hated because since it wasn't one of his five senses that sensed the presence, it was rather difficult to tell what else it was that was around him. The hunter stood stock still until finally he heard it. A voice, just on the edge of his hearing. Curious, Dean followed the sound, slowly and as stealthily as he could manage.
'Probably just some teenagers looking for some privacy,' Dean thought to himself with a smirk. Without properly thinking about 'privacy' Dean found himself sneaking closer to the voices. And the closer he got, the more he realized that he recognized two of the voices.

The man seemed like a business man, wearing his suit to a meeting like this... and Katsu got the impression he was involved in public relations, especialy when the man bowed to him. Katsu raised an eyebrow in response and bowed ever so slightly, keeping his eyes trained on the man.
"Before I can offer you anything, however, I am going to need more specificity on your problem."
Here was the big question. Katsu never revealed his secrets lightly, but in this situation it seemed there was no way around it if he wanted the cult's cooperation.
"You must have been informed that I have need of blood as sustinence for my existence, and wish to be rid of this need. You have most likely guessed what I am, and let me allay any doubts: ..." with a slight hiss, he bared his fangs pointedly, "I am a vampire."
Watching their reactions closely, he retracted his fangs and continued to speak, wanting to get the details out of the way quickly while they were on their heels (hopefully).
"I need blood to survive, but preying on humans brings hunters to my door, and feeding on other meat does not allay my hunger as sufficiently as does humans' does. What I desire from your... organization is a way to relieve myself of these cravings, while remaining immortal as I am, and receiving no... undesired side-effects..."

The man-the vampire- bared its fangs at Evan. All Evan could do was smile a bit wider. He had suspected him to be a vampire, but it was still fun to be meeting one in person. Evan realized other men would have backed away from the man, even let out a cry of surprise, but Evan could not help but smile. Every time he witnessed a new aspect of the supernatural world his mind was alighted with wonder... and greed.
The powers of the supernatural were a great interest to Evan, especially if they could be applied to humans. After all, wouldn't life be more interesting if he could read minds? Contain the strength of a dozen men? Induce pain with a mere thought?
But that was a project for another day. At the present, he had to decide if the vampire would be of any use to the Cult.
"I understand your predicament, and I will have to consult with some aquaintances to check if it is a viable procedure. I do not believe there has ever been a vampire that has been freed of his hunger, unless it was through death... again." Evan stopped to let this sink in. "But then again, I do not believe any vampire has ever approached a group as... influential as this one with such a request. I will discuss the matter with my compatriots. In the meantime, I must know, what is it you have to offer us? We do not need any monetary gifts, for we can aquire as much as we need in other manners. What is it you can offer to the Cult?"

Silent as humanly possible Dean crept closer to the group until he knew he couldn't get any nearer without giving himself away. Weapon in hand Dean found his eyes widening as he barely made out one of the figures. It was the man from the previous night, the supposed civilian that had ditched him to vanish into the night after the mystery girl.
"I'm a vampire."
Dean tensed and his brows creased into a frown. Vampires! That was unexpected. And he wasn't prepared. He had his 8 inch long knife on him and though he could definitely behead a vampire with it, he'd need the time to do it and he'd need to get that samurai sword away from the monster first.
Then another man spoke. Dean shifted slightly, trying to see through the leaves and branches who it was and in the process saw her. The emotionless woman who'd tried to kill the hunter Demmar last night. She stood silent and watchful, like some sort of creepy robot body guard. He didn't like it. Not at all.
Another shift and Dean spotted the speaking guy. A dude in a suit. Boy did he look out of place. Dean tipped his head, trying to catch a good glimpse of the guy's face, but there was too much stuff in the way. As he did, though, he noted that there was another silent party not far from the guy in the suit. Dean could see that guy even less, but it made him worry. How many people were over there that he couldn't see?
Dean kept silent, even slowing his breathing as much as possible on account of the vampire, and strained his hearing to listen to their conversation. So far he caught 'vampire' and something about not .... not wanting blood? He must have heard that wrong. What kind of vampire didn't-
No. The other guy just confirmed it. 'Freed from hunger'? Dean felt his lip curl just a little. Obviously the vampire was just trying to get the attention of Suit Man and whatever he was involved in. An influential 'organization' that dealt with... silent robot chick assassins...?

At the side, Tasha remained still, except for her eyes. They searched the vampire, studied his movements, and kept note of them for the future. She didn't feel the pressure in her mind that she usually felt when her Master was intruding in her mind, but this wasn't disturbing or releaving. He had said that may or may not 'drop in' at some point in the meeting. Considering past experiences, this meant that he likely would.
She turned her attention to Evan, who now spoke. Her master had expressed that she was to make sure the man did not cross any lines or get with all the credit if the Cult ended up with a alliance with the vampire. Neither of these had come with specific instructions, however, and so Tasha was left to stand quietly and absorb as much of the conversation as she could.

Katsu did not like this business man. He had bared his fangs and he smiled. Normal people didn't do that. Normal people would shy away, take a step back, even just stare... there was something wrong with that man, and it unnerved Katsu.
Katsu didn't like being unnerved by people.
I must know, what is it you have to offer us?
Raising his fangs, he ran his tongue along his teeth subconciously as he considered the question.
"I have many contacts in varying levels of society, from musical artists that hold influence over the young population, hunters whom I have had the misfortune to meet, others who have supernatural connections or are endowed with powers themselves, and have connections into the American FBI, Parisian ministry, and Japanese government. I know many things that you, being so... young, could not know about the turning of the world and the workings of humankind itself."
Katsu took a moment to look at the woman and the apparent bodyguard, then turned back to the businessman.
"I believe it would be a better question to ask you what you want of me. What is it that binding myself to your cult would entail for myself?"
A light breeze picked up momentarily, rustling his hair as he stared the man down, flying from one end of the clearing to the other. Along with it came a scent... very faint, so he couldn't be sure exactly what it was... it seemed.. familiar, however... taking a deep breath he tried to place it, but the breeze settled down, ending the stream of scent...
Katsu shrugged mentally, pushing it out of his mind.

"I believe it would be a better question to ask you what you want of me. What is it that binding myself to your cult would entail for myself?"
Evan's lips once again curled into a smile.
"That would depend on how useful you are to me."
Evan motioned for Tasha to come closer and muttered in her ear,
"Would you contact the others and fill them in on the worth of this man's connections?"

Tasha nodded, her eyes not leaving Katsuro as Evan spoke. When the order was finished she did turn away, first reaching out with her mind in an attempt to reach her Master's, but as usual it didn't work. So she pulled out a cell phone, the motion slow so as not to unsettle the vampire.
She flipped open the phone and hit the speed dial, walking out to the edge of the clearing to keep the discussion a little more private. Her master picked up after four rings. He never was a man to feel any urgency towards anything.
"Yes, yes, what is it?"
"Mr. Hallowed told me to inform you and the others of the situation," Tasha replied.
"Tell me," he said eagerly. "Then I'll inform the others and we'll make a decision."
Tasha relayed what had transpired efficiently. She knew by now what sort of details her controller thought was important.
"A vampire... They can be tricky... But if he does in fact have these resources..." Hayseworth paused as if in thought. "Our cult could become even more influential. We could become more powerful. And our benefactor would see what we have done with his power and with our own... He would grant us even more power. More magic... Maybe only to myself since I discovered this creature..."
Haynesworth hadn't discovered anyone. The vampire had found her. And Evan Hallowed was the one doing the negotiations. Her master was only involved at all by proxy! But Tasha didn't correct him. He didn't like that and she didn't care about credit. Or anything else that she wasn't told specifically to care about.
"Don't tell anyone what I just said, Natasha. From when I started talking about vampires to the end of this sentence. It might seem a little selfish," he ordered. "All right?"
"Yes, sir."
"I will discuss it with the others immediately and we will do a quick check on this Katsuro Saigo. I will call you back momentarily."
"Yes, sir."
Hayseworth hung up as did Tasha. She kept the phone in her hand and looked out into the darkness of the forest. She tipped her head to the side, squinting when she thought she saw something. A figure in the dark.

She was right there. Dean went still. He thought she'd seen him right away, but then she'd started up on the phone. Still, his precarious situation had gotten even more precarious. he'd crouched as far back into the shrubs as he could without actually shifting his feet or any of the foliage. Then she'd hung up and looked his way.
He didn't move. He didn't even breathe. If she saw him, if she alerted the others...
Dean didn't even notice the smile that pulled gently at his mouth. Adrenaline and a bit of near death adventure was lifting his spirits. Call him weird, call him a freak, but he'd take an adrenaline rush over the black hole he'd been spiraling closer and closer to since the death of his father... Not that he really even recognized this. He just knew that as the woman stared his way, he almost found himself hoping that she would see him. Vampires and weirdo suit-guys be damned.
Luckily, though his subconscious wanted a fight, instinct still prevailed, keeping him still and quiet. But that might not be enough...
