Tasha stepped exited the stairwell and climbed out onto the roof. She looked about quickly then hurried to the edge of the rooftop, looking down to the ground below so she could watch her prey. Scanning the alleyway she noted that the Good Samaritan was still down there with Demmar when the police arrived. She squinted and leaned over the edge a little more, but realized that she could not see the other man -the man who'd gotten shot. She pursed her lips, but didn't dwell on it. The wounded man was not her concern after all and as far as she could tell he posed no threat.
There was no ambulance down there, but she could see the police trying to get her prey into the back of one of their vehicles. Looking past the glare she read the side of the police cars, memorizing their county and hoping that the hospital that they took Demmar to would be one and the same.

If Katsu was going to make a move, it would have to be now, before the police cars left, trapping her on the rooftop.... taking a breath, Katsu stood from behind the large, whirring box and observed the woman as she squinted down at the people below.
"Ahem," Katsu coughed to get her attention. He stood slightly sideways to create a smaller target in case she tried to kill him, but held out his hands in a non-threatening manner. "Good afternoon. I would like to have a little chat with you before you go chasing after that man. Would you mind terribly?"

Tasha spun around quickly at the voice and saw that the speaker was civilian from earlier. The one who'd called the police. She would have been surprised had she been allowed that kind of emotion. As it was she simply took in him, his posture, their surroundings, and began to prioritize.
"I do not chat," she replied stoically. "State your purpose quickly if you must."

"Straight to the point, aren't we? Alright..."
Katsu knew he had to tread softly; if he didn't gain her trust, she would see the need to 'get rid of him.'
"To put it simply, I am in need of some aid... some very, 'special' aid. I believe you may know some people who can give me what I desire. I am ready to pay for this service with monetary means, but I have a feeling that will not be enough for your... employers. I can provide many services, and I have many contacts with access into high-ranking corporate, military, and political engines."
He paused for a moment to gauge her reaction. Her lack of human emotion was unnatural.... it wasn't just simple assasin ambiguity; she seemed not to have any in the first place...

was obvious the man knew about her masters, or at least thought he knew. She tipped her head to the side with a slight frown.
He wanted something, but would not divulge what. He offered money. Her masters did not require money. He offered services. …She was in no position to consider ‘services’. Her orders were to kill the hunter Demmar. That meant getting rid of or getting away from this newcomer. But which was more feasible?
Before she could decide, she felt a familiar presence in her mind. Her master was reaching out to her mind, checking on her status and demanding an update. mentally she relayed the night’s events, ending with the offer of this dark haired stranger. her master was irritated.
She could sense this and somewhere deep deep down inside her, buried so that her mind didn’t even fully register it, Tasha felt the slightest sense of pleasure at his discontent.
Her master, still connected directly to her mind, relayed his updated orders.
“Identify yourself and exactly what it is you want,” she demanded.
Down on the sidewalk below, she could hear the sounds of he ambulance getting ready to disembark.

Katsu narrowed his eyes. He didn't like divulging information about himself to cronies and puppets.
"You may call me Katsuro. I require a service of a particular complexity, the details of which I would prefer to leave for your master to know."
Katsu saw the woman glance at the ambulance, seeming eager to follow, or at least needing to watch, but decided not to comment on it. ("Let her squirm. She may give me a better deal if she needs to complete what she was doing... or she may try to fight me, but I'm fairly sure I can take her down.")

Tasha frowned, the expression simply a reflection of the feelings of her master who was now retreating from her mind. He was interested in this Katsuro and although Demmar was still a threat, her master apparently thought he was a loose end that could be tied up later.
"My master is interested," she replied, her demeanor softening as instructed. She was to appear stern and strong, but not standoffish or emotionless as she had been. Her orders: do what was necessary to discover what this strange person was about, but if the danger was too great, he was not worth it. Get out and return to the original mission.
"But you will not meet him in person. Not until he learns ... a little more about this proposition." She motioned towards the stairs that would take them back inside. "I suggest we talk elswhere in case that other man comes looking for us."

'We're finally getting somewhere... good,' Katsu thought to himself.
Katsu led the way down the staircase, keeping a close watch on the woman in case she decided to attack after all. He stopped on the first landing, checking the door to see if anyone was nearby in the connecting hall
"Where would you like me to start?"

On the landing Tasha paused to consider the man. She took in his cool demeaner and the way he'd acted thus far and realized that she couldn't tell much about him at all. He seemed very calm and in control.
"You mentioned a service. What do you know of... me?" It was best if she left the Cult unmentioned until she learned what exactly it was that this man thought he knew.
"Then you may describe this service you require."

"You?" Was there something special about this woman? He had simply thought she was connected to the Cult... a pawn perhaps. Her question almost made Katsu wonder if she was a higher figure in the cult.... though he would think the higher-ups would have more sense than to bring attention to themselves...
"Of you I know merely that you are connected to this Cult. I have heard hints and rumors... suppressed rumors which only made them more obvious to my eye..."
"Of the service I require.... " He stopped for a moment, wondering how much to tell...
"I have been around the world, have lived with different cultures and survived some of the darkest moments in history, have seen many battles and massacres... But through all of it, I have never been able to overcome something so simple; food."
"The certain... nutrition that I require has been an irritance and distasteful to my senses. I wish to be rid of my need, and be rid of those who would... prove an irritance because of it."

His mention of ‘darkest moments in history’ implied that the man before her was far older than he appeared. The need for a ‘distasteful nutrition’ could mean a number things including many she didn’t know much about, but in her opinion, this man was something… unnatural. She considered this calm man before her.
What this Katsuro told her of what he knew already was enough to have him considered a security threat to the Cult. That usually meant a death sentence. However, Haynsworth was interested in this creature. Just because an outsider got too close to the cult did not mean that they would be of no use. Tasha knew that from personal experience.
Tasha went for one more bit of information. She knew her master would demand it of her to try.
“What nutrition?” she questioned. “Answer this for us and I will take you to my masters.”

Of course the one thing he was most loathe to reveal is the one specific detail she requires... There was nothing to gain from keeping silent, however. This could be his only chance to free himself.
Staring coldly into the depths of the woman's eyes, he simply replied, "Blood."

OOC: I'm so sorry, Katsu! I'm the slowest person ever! :: Bows apologetically::
Blood. The essence of life in many a culture. There were several creatures that required the blood of others, but one jumped to her mind unbidden before any other. Vampire.
Of course, it wasn't the job of a Puppet to make assumptions, but she couldn't help but be more on guard. Her own safety was still vital in order to carry out her mission.
Her master had told her to gain that piece of information and she had. Now she was to guide him into the clutches of the Cult.
She nodded indifferently to Katsuro's bit of information then pointed to the west. "There is a meadow in the center of Detswitch Forest just outside of town. Go there tomorrow evening, 9:00. There you can speak to my masters about your... intentions. Come alone."
Tasha mentioned nothing about weapons. She had been told not to.

It was odd. Most people would be chilled to be standing only a few feet from a being having expressed a need for the essence of their life itself. Cower a bit, take a step away, even bat an eyelid at the information, but this woman showed nothing. It was not normal, perhaps even inhuman...
But who was he to question the humanity of someone he had just met when he himself had not been privileged enough to count himself as one for decades...
He made a slight nod at the woman's directions, noticing that they seemed to be lacking in specificity... did that mean she just wanted to lure him somewhere where she could dispose of him quietly? The interview was over. He had arranged a meeting, but was that a good thing?
Before he turned away from the woman, he decided to try to answer a question that lingered in his mind..........
"I shall be there, but tell me... I have told you about myself, but what is your name? A pretty face like yours must not remain nameless."
Here was his test. The woman had seemed distant throughout the conversation, almost as if she had not truly been there. When he had first seen her in the alley, however, her tone had been normal, full of emotions and energy... it seemed almost as if she had become a different person, like someone or something had flipped a switch in her head to change her into a different person completely...
If she reacted with surprise, anger, even narrowed her eyes, it would be a sign of her humanity. If, however, she did not react at all as per her newer persona, Katsu felt he would have need for suspicion...

Tasha blinked at the vampire. Names held no particular importance to her, but her master had warned her not to give it out lightly. She considered the options and their implications, but in the end decided that telling him something of her might strengthen Katsuro's trust in her -important if he was to talk with her masters.
"My name is Tasha," she replied. Her master had not given her an alias for her job earlier that evening so she had to assume that it was alright to use her real name now as well. Being a Puppet did not allow for much creativity beyond what is specifically allowed per mission.
Somewhere deep inside where the free will of Tasha Preston still survived, Tasha cringed as she spoke. Giving her real name to this character didn't seem safe. At least she'd not told him her last name.
The woman waited to see if Katsuro needed anything else from her.

Katsu scoured her face for any sign of emotion, but was not sure he found any. There had been a very slight thoughtful, calculating look in her face, but that was not neccessarily an emotion.... but-perhaps he had imagined it-there seemed to have been something deep in her eyes; something that was more than calculating... something like uneasiness? He could not be sure.
Yet.
"Were you planning on killing that man? Your manner shows you have killed before, but why would someone like you be an assasin for hire? What monstrosities of fate have turned you into such a dark being of hatred?"
Katsu felt he was pushing his luck a bit, but the place and time of the meeting was set, so he felt like he could pry a little......

Tasha allowed herself a frown. That seemed like the proper thing to do in response to such questions. Katsuro's questions indicated an interest in her, but it was difficult to read his intent. Was he trying to get information out of her? Or was he just curious about her?
Either way, she didn't think that answering was necessary.
"I don't think that's any of your business."
She turned from him. "Tomorrow night, 9pm. Detswitch Forest," she reminded. Then she walked off.

Katsu stood for a moment, wondering if anything could be deduced from her reaction. It seemed that her response was completely appropriate. She had shown emotion and allowed herself to drop her business-like demeanor, but still... Something about it had not seemed quite right... the frown had matched the blank look that remained in her eyes... gone was that glimpse of uneasiness he had seen in that split second... Or perhaps her was just too ready to think something strange was going on. Maybe it is just normal for that woman to be so completely calculating and emotionless.... Katsu shook his head. "Kids these days." With that he turned and walked down the staircase, completely intending to scope out the meeting place before he met with the woman's "Masters" and began planning what armnaments to bring... she had said 'come alone,' but nothing about coming unarmed.... Continued in Detswitch Meeting
